My greatest hope is that every family builds a robust support network as they transition from pregnancy to parenthood, finding support wherever they seek it. I believe a doula is integral to this process, connecting clients with trusted care providers, support services, books, and the latest research. The knowledge of the normal birth process that doulas provide makes a huge difference during that experience.
I completed the birth doula and childbirth education trainings at The Simkin Center at Bastyr, in the summer of 2012. I am certified with PALS and DONA. I have additional training in acupressure for labor and postpartum comfort and Hypnobirthing for birth professionals. I’ve also attended a Spinning Babies workshop. I work with families delivering in Seattle and on the Eastside. Prior to birth work, I ran a home daycare for a decade. I loved supporting families as they raised their children. Additionally, I worked in health care in a hospital, emergency room, urgent care, and physical therapy office.
When I’m not engaged in birth related work or reading, I’m a busy mother to four phenomenal young people, ranging in age from preschooler to high schooler. We love exploring the Pacific Northwest, completing renovation and construction projects, and experimenting with new recipes.
