Kim James

I am a PALS Doulas and DONA International certified birth doula and doula trainer at Bastyr University’s Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations. I also teach childbirth education classes at Parent Trust for Washington Children as an ICEA and Lamaze International certified childbirth educator.

My greatest pleasure as a birth doula is supporting families’ confidence, joy and excitement about the birth and early parenting of their children. I have extensive experience with families facing higher risk pregnancies and a special interest in blending high-tech with high-touch. My goal is to keep families connected with the birth process and finding ways to work with technology for the best outcomes possible.

I’m a Washington State native and graduate of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. I live in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood where I enjoy my CrossFit gym, my walking and book club groups and managing my household of two daughters, one spouse and two cats.
